Sigma unveils 20mm, 24mm F1.4 DG DN lenses for Sony E, L mounts - Camera Jabber

Sigma has announced new 20mm F1.4 DG DN and 24mm F1.4 DG DN lenses for Sony E and L mount cameras.

The Sigma 20mm F1.4 DG DN | Art weighs just 635g and measures 87.8 x 111.2mm, making it much smaller and more portable than the existing 20mm F1.4. It’s comprised of 17 elements in 15 groups, of which there are two FLD and three aspherical elements.

The 11-blade diaphragm and wide f/1.4 aperture promise smooth bokeh and excellent low-light performance, while the lens offers a minimum focusing distance of 23cm.

The Sigma 20mm F1.4 DG DN is made from aluminium an dThermally Stable Composite, with a dust- and splash-resistant structure. What’s more, there is a water- and oil-repellent coating on the front element and a rubber seal around the mount.

The Sigma 24mm F1.4 DG DN | Art is even lighter at 520g, which makes it almost 30% lighter than Sigma’s existing 24mm F1.4 lens.

New to this lens are a manual aperture ring with de-click and lock functionality, a front filter thread and rear filter holder, as well as a new Manual Focus Lock to switch to deactivate the focus ring.

Aimed at astrophotographers, the Sigma 24mm F1.4 DG DN | Art is comprised of 17 elements in 14 groups, of which there are two FLD, one SLD and four aspherical elements.

Other features include Super Multi-Layer and Nano Porous Coatings and compatibility with Sony’s AF Assist.

Sigma 20mm F1.4 DG DN | Art and Sigma 24mm F1.4 DG DN | Art Price & Release Date

The Sigma 20mm F1.4 DG DN | Art price tag will be £859, while the Sigma 24mm F1.4 DG DN | Art price tag will be £779. Both lenses will have a 26 August release date.
